Noida, foreground lighting Will soon be made mandatory for high rise buildings along major roads of Greater Noida, The local authority, officials said, is working on a policy that would require 40% of the building’s façade to be illuminated at night.

‘This will enhance the beauty of the city. These lights can be installed at a gap of 500 meters. Educational institutions, group housing projects and corporate offices will be asked to put up lights on the side of buildings facing the main road.
In August this year, the Noida Authority made lighting mandatory on buildings located off the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. At least 40% of the road frontage shall be illuminated.
As per the Noida policy, building owners will have four months from the date of issue of the letter to install the lights. Lighting clause to be included in the layout of all buildings away from the expressway. Without this the map will not be accepted.

The Greater Noida Authority has canceled the land allotment of two educational institutions due to mounting dues. About Rs 50.6 crore was outstanding including premium and lease rent of both the plots. No construction has been done on them.
Additional CEO Aditi Singh said that Priyadarshini College of Computer Science was allotted 28,750 sqm in Knowledge Park 1 in 1999. Though it was supposed to deposit around Rs 25.7 crore with the authority, it has paid only around Rs 2.2 crore so far.
Around 20,000 sqm allocated to Soho Food & Beverages (Soho Mascot Foundation) in Techzone 7 in 2014 were also cancelled. Greater Noida Educational Institute was to be built on the plot. Soho had outstanding premium of around Rs 20 crore and lease rent of Rs 4.8 crore.
