Gurugram: Home buyers are angry over the delay in getting possession of their flats Mahira Homes Protest against developer in Sector 68 on Saturday DTCP For failing to complete the project even after five years.

Holding banners and raising slogans, the protesters, including senior citizens and children, urged the Prime Minister to intervene so that the construction, which has been stalled since February 2022, resumes.

The project, spread over 10 acres, was launched in April 2018 and was to be completed by August last year.

In May, the DTCP had canceled the project’s license for allegedly forging documents and forging bank guarantees, leaving around 1,500 home buyers in the lurch.

After this, in September, the department restored the license and directed to complete the work within 6 months.

However, the developer has repeatedly failed to resume work on the project since its inception with only 60% completed.

The buyers claimed that several complaints and meetings with senior DTCP officials did not yield any result.

Sachin Kumar, a home buyer, said that he has lost all hope of getting a home soon. “We approached all possible authorities including DTCP, RERA and even reached out to the chief minister and home minister but no relief was given to us. We want the work to start soon otherwise a big protest will be planned.

Last week, DTCP director general, TL Satyaprakash, issued a show-cause notice to the developer and directed him to verify the validity of all documents and remove the irregularities by replacing the documents or submitting new valid documents, failing which further action would be taken. . Action will be taken regarding suspension/cancellation of license.

Another buyer Dhruv Kapoor said that the project is under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

“We request the Prime Minister to intervene. We are continuously facing difficulties in paying EMI, rent and getting subsidy under PMAY scheme. This is causing a lot of trouble to the home buyers financially and mentally, even an allottee attempted suicide. In the last 15 months, we have requested several times, but all in vain.

The developer did not respond to TOI’s calls or text.
