New Delhi: Delhi State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (Siaa) has recently given environment clearance for construction of group housing colony Ashok Vihar in North West Delhi.
Of the 1,961 trees on site, 100 will be transplanted on-campus, 662 will be transplanted off-site, 996 will be pruned and 203 will be retained. SEIAAA has asked the project proponent to retain the Sheesham trees that fell on the boundary wall.
Plot of land as per environmental clearance, which comes under Rail Land Development AuthorityUnder the lease agreement, an agency has been given for the development of the group housing colony.
Though the project had initially got environment clearance in 2021, the project proponent later claimed that there was a clerical error in counting trees and applied for amendment of environment clearance for the same.
