New Delhi: Supreme decision making body Delhi Development Authority Officials on Wednesday approved the launch of the fourth phase of DDA’s online first-come-first-served housing scheme on June 30, which has the facility to book a flat of one’s choice in a preferred locality by paying a token booking amount. In a meeting of the authority, which was chaired by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who is also the chairman of the DDA, it “approved two options of buyback and re-development for the owners or allottees of Signature View Apartments in Mukherjee Nagar”, “In line with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Housing for All’, the authority today approved the launch of the fourth phase of DDA’s online first-come, first-served housing scheme, wherein flats of one’s choice can be purchased,” the DDA said in a statement. Also, there is no condition of owning any plot or house in Delhi for booking these flats, thereby facilitating ownership of multiple houses by members of an extended family to improve urban living.

Officials said that for the first time, the DDA is offering MIG flats in Dwarka and Narela and HIG flats in Jasola, besides LIG and EWS flats under the FCFS housing scheme in Rohini, Narela, Siraspur and Loknayak Puram.

“Initially, around 5,000 flats of different categories will be offered and more flats will be added from time to time as per the demand. In order to keep the houses affordable to the general public at large, the DDA has retained the cost of most of the EWS / LIG flats at the same level prevailing at the time of Special Housing Scheme, 2021 and others have been kept at the proposed prices in 2022-23.

Once the payment of registration amount is confirmed, DDA will immediately issue online system generated demand letter for “First Time”. Based on the response to the previous schemes, the DDA has invested a substantial amount in improving the infrastructure of these localities including connectivity.

Realizing the difficulties being faced by the residents of Signature View Apartments, the Authority has accorded approval for an effective solution to the residents of the apartments.

The housing authority said that under this, the DDA will give two options to the allottees/residents/owners of Signature View Apartments to proceed further in the matter.

“One of the options is direct purchase of flats wherein the DDA will reimburse the cost of capital paid by the allottees along with interest plus the stamp duty paid at the time of registration.

“The other option is reconstruction of flats, under which the DDA will provide newly constructed flats at the same location with similar specifications. However, better amenities and civic services will be provided in line with the Unified Building Bye-laws (UBBL) in vogue,” it said.

In addition, the facility amount of rent will also be paid during the construction period till the offer letter is issued to all the allottees and owners, the statement said.

The decisions come after a “series of interventions” at the behest of the lieutenant governor, who is “sincerely pursuing” the disposal of DDA’s unsold housing inventory, as well as a “pro-active people-friendly approach”. are also taking The hardship and inconvenience caused to the allottees or owners of flats in view of the redevelopment of Signature View Apartments, the statement said.

The Authority has also approved proposals to allot flats to nearby slum clusters as per eligibility in flats constructed at Kalkaji and Jalorwala Bagh, thereby rehabilitating more slum dwellers in a cleaner, safer and more comfortable environment.

To boost livelihood for slum dwellers, the authority approved the allotment of flats to eligible families in two JJ clusters – Golden Park, Rampura and Opposite Mata Jai ​​Kaur Public School.

DDA has constructed 1,675 EWS flats of 31 sqm each under the Jhuggi Jhopri Rehabilitation Project for allotment to eligible residents of JJ Cluster, Jailorwala Bagh, Ashok Vihar. On the other hand, 1,093 eligible families of Jalorwala Bagh, Ashok Vihar have been allotted flats through a draw. Officials said that demand cum allotment letters would be issued soon.

He said that for allotment of the remaining 582 flats in Jalorwala Bagh, two nearby JJ clusters, namely Golden Park, Rampura and opposite Mata Jai ​​Kaur Public School, Ashok Vihar have been identified for relocation.

Along with this, the authority has approved the eligibility determination of 1500 families of Navjeevan Camp, Govindpuri, Kalkaji to provide housing under the in situ slum rehabilitation project.

DDA has constructed 3,024 EWS flats at A-14, Kalkaji Extension under the in situ slum rehabilitation project.
