Mumbai: State government has decided to reduce the premium for transfer of slum redevelopment flat from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50,000, said Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis Who also have a housing portfolio.
The premium is to be paid to the housing society.
Speaking at a seminar on self-redevelopment, Fadnavis said it would be mandatory for builders to pay one year’s rent in advance. The Deputy CM said that the service charges for MHADA housing societies would also be increased. On non-agriculture tax on housing societies, Fadnavis said the government has already announced a moratorium on it during the legislative session. “We are considering doing away with NA tax on housing societies,” he said.
Fadnavis said the BMC has been directed to provide land to cooperative departments in each of the 24 civic administrative wards, so that residents do not have to travel far to resolve issues related to housing societies.
Suburban Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said a list of documents required for deemed conventions would be made public soon after the government issues a Government Resolution (GR) on setting up the camps. “The GR is expected within a month. After this, we will organize camps in every civic ward.”
