Housing minister pats Andhra Pradesh government for providing house-sites to 30 lakh families ET Real Estate

Vijayawada: Union Minister of State for Housing Kaushal Kishore has praised Andhra Pradesh Government to provide houses to about 30 lakh poor families.

He expressed satisfaction over the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.PMAY) Plan.

Union Minister reviews progress of housing schemes with State Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh and senior officers Vijayawada on Tuesday.

He held a video-conference with the District Project Managers in the presence of senior officials.

He asked the officials to speed up the construction works so that all the poor could get their own houses.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants every poor and homeless person to have a pucca house by 2024.

“The Center has liberally sanctioned houses PMAY to AP. The authorities should be serious enough to complete the housing units,” said Kishor.

He asked the senior officers to focus on creation of infrastructure in the upcoming housing colonies.

Ramesh requested the Union Minister to ensure early release of funds for early completion of the houses.

They said that Andhra Pradesh It is the only state in the country which gave about 30 lakh houses to the poor.

He said the state government was spending around Rs 30,000 crore to create infrastructure in YSR Jagannath housing colonies.

Ramesh requested the Union Minister to provide additional funds for creation of infrastructure in the housing colonies.

Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain said that apart from providing free sand to the housing beneficiaries, steel, cement and other equipment are being made available at concessional rates.

Andhra Pradesh Housing Board Managing Director Lakshmi Shah, Chief Engineer GV Prasad, Navratnalu Implementation Committee Vice Chairman Ankamareddy Narayana Murthy were also present.
