Noida, supertech President RK Arora District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma said that the administration was summoned on Monday regarding the recovery certificate (RC) issued by UP-Rera, which is yet to be completed.
Officials said Arora was called to the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dadri for the deadline to honor the recovery certificates. The RCs, 52 of them for a project off the Yamuna Expressway, amount to Rs 26 crore.
“He complied with the summons and agreed to pay the dues,” Verma said. DM Verma said, “He was not detained. Our aim is to recover the dues from the developers, and we will take similar action against other defaulters.”
ADM Finance Vandita Srivastava said supertech Recently approved an RC of Rs 5 cr. “On Monday, the chairman of Supertech promised to pay Rs 2 crore and settle Rs 5 crore. He also promised that the company would clear the rest of the dues soon,” he added.
SDM Dadri Alok Kumar Gupta said that Arora stayed in his office for about an hour. “He said that he did not know about RC personally. He called a staff member who handles these issues for the company. They agreed to clear the dues soon. They have been given 10 days, failing which action will be taken.” be taken,” he said.
On April 6 this year, the district administration launched a drive to collect Rs 503 crore against 1705 RCs issued by UP-RERA to 101 developers. Officials said the teams had made ‘munadi’ outside Supertech’s offices, but the company management ignored it, following which the summons was sent to Arora.
The SDM said that under Section 171 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code 2006, the district administration has the right to detain or arrest a person who defaults in payment of land revenue dues. For recovery of RC dues, revenue officers first issue notices to the defaulters, then make munadis outside their offices and residences.
If the dues are not paid even after that, proceedings can be initiated to confiscate and auction the properties of the defaulter.
UP-RERA started issuing RCs, which are refunds to homebuyers, from May 2018. So far, the administration has received 4571 RCs worth Rs 1,700 crore.
However, some developers have gone to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and their RCs have been withdrawn.
The administration has recovered Rs 40 crore against these pending RCs since April 6 till now.
Arora told TOI that he was called for a discussion. “Supertech was developing a project – Supertech Golf Country – in 2012. However, there were issues in land acquisition and some farmers got a stay from the Allahabad High Court and the construction was stopped.
Meanwhile, a group of homebuyers went to RERA and got an RC issued against us. I was called to the office of SDM Dadri to discuss the issue. I presented a roadmap to clear the dues. I was not detained,” Arora said.
