Pune: The state property registration department is gearing up to ensure that at least 20% of first sale (brand new) units are registered online by builders in the months leading up to January, after introducing e-registration from developers’ offices. to be done.
Inspector General of State Registration and Tickets (IGR), warm hearing, told TOI on Wednesday, “There has been a good response for this initiative. We expect this trend to intensify in the coming three months. The department will focus on ensuring that more developers come on board for this. We have started bringing on board developers with only 20 units for registration.”
Officials said the total expected units to be registered from the developers’ offices in the coming days is around 1.43 lakh units. For now, daily registration is limited to 10-15 documents.
Six dedicated officers have been appointed to expedite the e-registration process to ensure that more developers opt for it. Registration officials said the main objective is to decongest the sub-registrar offices. The developers are being trained for this process and for this workshops have been organized at various exhibitions.
“The e-registration facility from the developers’ offices was announced in October 2021. Most of the developers had already received training before it started. The response is healthy,” said Deputy IGR (IT) Suhas Mapari, adding that the number continues to rise.
Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) national vice president Shantilal Kataria told TOI, “The initial hurdles have been cleared and many developers are interested in the e-process. More and more builders will opt for it by the end of the year. The registration department is focusing on this change and developers are also comfortable with it.
However, he added that training should be ensured for more cities rather than just metros, and more developer bodies need to be involved to ensure additional participation.
