Gurugramresident of : DLF New Town Heights In Sector 90, a letter has been written to the Town and Country Planning (DTCP) department demanding a structural audit of the society.
According to residents, the project has several structural deficiencies, including frequent falling of plaster fragments and concrete, cracks in balconies and leaks in shafts, posing a threat to their safety.
There is frequent seepage and leakage in basement areas, which are compromising the structural integrity and foundation of buildings, he said. Residents allege that even after complaining several times, no concrete effort is being made by the builder to solve the problem.
Prince Jain, president of the society’s condominium association, said, “We have sought a structural audit from an independent authority as we are seeing repeated incidents of plaster and concrete falling at many places in the society.” Residents said more than 10 such incidents have been witnessed in the last one month.
The project was started in 2008 and possession started in 2014. The society has more than 1,300 flats in which more than 900 families are currently residing. Resident Ashok Malik said, “The problem was there from the beginning, but this year such incidents have become common.” Association secretary Chintan Katare said, “We have written to DTCP and additional chief secretary of Haryana and urged them to take timely action.”
When contacted, a spokesperson of DLFThe developer said: “We are already in discussions with the RWAs to assess the situation and the repair and maintenance work. The facade will be repaired by the company.”
Meanwhile, district town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia said, “I have not received the complaint from the society yet, but I will look into the matter.”
