Mumbai: The mumbai police An order has been issued asking people to provide relevant details while they are renting or sub-letting properties in the metropolis, an official said on Thursday. This order has become effective for 60 days from Wednesday and those violating it will be booked under relevant sections Indian Penal Code (IPC), he said.

According to the official, the purpose of the order is to prevent subversive and anti-social elements from finding hiding places Residential regions.

“There is an apprehension that subversive, anti-social elements may seek shelter in residential areas and there is every likelihood of breach of peace and public tranquility leading to danger to human life and on that account causing damage to private or public property ” Order.

It said that every landlord, owner and person dealing in property business who has rented or sub-let any accommodation to any person shall forthwith furnish the relevant details on the citizen portal of Mumbai Police.

The order states that if the person to whom the accommodation has been rented or given on rent is a foreigner, they will have to furnish all the details including the reason for staying in the city.
