Pune: State Cooperative Department got only 101 applications deemed transport Despite the special, targeted drive for the viral document from newly-registered housing societies in 2022.
The conveyance is the ownership right of the building and the plot on which the structure is constructed. If the developer does not give, then the deemed vehicle is obtained through the competent authority.
Newly-registered housing societies can approach the cooperative department after four months of registration of the society, if the developer refuses to execute the deed.
“The numbers are dismal,” Anil Kawade, state commissioner of cooperatives and registrar of cooperatives, told TOI on Monday, adding that on an average, around 2,500 to 3,000 societies are registered in a year. “We have asked our deputy registrars to personally visit these societies and apply. Members of the Housing Society Federation have also been requested to create more awareness. Societies should understand the benefits of deemed conveyance.”
Members of State Housing Federations have also been involved in reaching out to the societies to create awareness.
vice president of Maharashtra State Co-operative Housing Union Suhas Patwardhan said that they have started an awareness campaign and are planning to run a campaign in Pimple Saudagar in the coming week. “Constant awareness programs and follow-up with the deputy registrar’ of new housing societies will help deemed conventions as they have their documents,” he said.
A deputy registrar said they are following up with some societies, but many are hesitant to push for deemed convention as the builders have not met the assured amenities.
The deputy registrar said, “The societies delay the process as builders delay the process in providing necessary assured amenities and also fail to provide details of maintenance charges collected earlier for the project.”
