Gurugram: The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) announced on Thursday that plots with an area of ​​100 square yards could be regularised.

The move comes at a time when the state government is trying to check mushrooming of illegal colonies.

MCG commissioner PC Meena said that earlier regularization and sub-division was allowed for plots with a minimum area of ​​200 square yards, and now it has been changed to 100 square yards.

“The state government has recently issued a notification stating that sub-divided plots of 100 square yards or more in the area are eligible for regularisation. The application for regularization of such subdivided plots falling under the MCG limits has to be submitted to the MCG Commissioner. The owner of the plot will have to get the building plan approved as per the provisions of the Haryana Building Code 2017. The front set of the subdivided plot should be as per the original plot,” said the MCG commissioner.

In a change, the Urban Local Bodies Department has ordered that the minimum plot size eligible for regularization and new sub-division will now be 100 square yards and above and the size of the sub-divided plot should not be less than 50 square yards.

“The applicant shall apply to the competent authority i.e. Commissioner in case of Municipal Corporation and District Municipal Commissioner in case of Municipal Councils and Societies for regularization of sub-divided/new subdivision of the plot as per the prescribed format,” read the notification issued. The district administration had also announced that illegal colonies located outside municipal areas in the city would now be up for regularization by January 18 under the Haryana Management of Areas Deficient in Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Outside Municipal Areas (Special Provisions) Act 2021. can be applied.
