Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) sees huge revenue growth in 2022. Revenue through building permits to increase by 14.9 percent during 2022. The civic body earned Rs 51.9 crore in revenue from building plan approval. Property tax revenue to increase from 65 crores in 2021 to 110 crores in 2022.
City Mayor describing the progress of VMC in 2022 Rayana Bhagya Laxmiand VMC Commissioner Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar Said that the city has secured 5th position in the Swachh Survekshan ranking.
“2022 was the year of development for Vijayawada city. In total, 16 parks were developed in the city, which include Rajiv Gandhi Park, which has become a film shooting spot. Three swimming pools were renovated and are now hosting national level sporting events. We took special care on the health and hygiene wing. In total, 11 UPHCs were constructed in the city. We collected 11 crores as user fee on garbage collection,” said mayor Bhagya Lakshmi.
Swapnil Dinakar said that top priority would be given to the completion of affordable houses for the poor in Jagan Anna Colonies. He said that the basement level work has been completed in 11,000 houses.
A total of 16 km long CC roads and 18 km long black top roads were developed at an estimated cost of Rs 37.5 crore. Mission pothole free city has been given top priority and Rs 6.4 crore has been allocated for road repairs.
