It added that both the cement plants were closed “under unavoidable circumstances”.

When contacted, Jeet Gautam of Bilaspur District Truck Operators Society (BDTS) said that many workers would not be ready to relocate. “I doubt that all employees will say yes to transfer. I do not see the residents of Himachal ready to relocate somewhere in Rajasthan. Basically, the Adani Group is asking its employees to either take transfers or leave,” said Gautam.

He said that there was no progress in talks with Barmana Cement Plant management regarding freight charges.

“The rate issue will be resolved only when the government intervenes and creates pressure. If the deadlock continues, thousands of people will be in trouble. We are ready to negotiate on rates only if the company increases its cement production. by truck unions.

While the District Transport Cooperative Society (BDTS) is charging 11.41 PTPK, the truck operators in Darlaghat are charging 10.58 PTPK.

Truck unions in Solan have formed a committee to negotiate freight rates with the management of Ambuja Cements. The decision in this regard was taken in the meeting chaired by Solan Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday.
